Dr. D Dhanamithiran is Director and Diabetologist at the Diabetes Care & Speciality Centre in Chennai. He completed his MBBS from Kilpauk Medical College, Madras University in 1986. Later, in 2008, he obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Diabetology from Annamalai University. He also successfully completed the Certificate Course in Evidence Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM) from the Public Health Foundation of India, New Delhi, in 2010-11.

Dr. Dhanamithiran is a member of several medical associations and has played an organising role in Diabetes conferences such as RSSDI 2012 and APDF 2013. He is Founder Trustee of MITHR Foundation and Founder and President of the D-Club, both of which are in Chennai.
